According to the Lonely Planet's Where to Go When publication the best month to visit Kangaroo Island is July. Prices are cheaper so you can afford to spend longer exploring the beautiful beaches and bushland with fewer people. As an extra bonus, this is when you might spot newborn roos and wallabies emerging from their mother's prouches. It's not even that cold (8-15C 46-59F). Other months Jun-Sep - colder, cheaper, whale sightings; Oct-Nov - spring flowers; Dec- Feb is hottest and animals retreat into the bush until dusk, Mar-May - warm, calm.
