The gallery is located only 2km (4 mins drive) from Sunrise on Falie, down near the main waterfront dock of American River.
A MUST DO stop when visiting American River ... A.R. Tells A Story Art Gallery is located in the heart of the seaside town of American River.
This community gallery was established in December 2020, for the display and promotion of quality artwork by local artists together with sharing the rich history of American River.
The gallery showcases and sells wide variety of unique items, including paintings, photography, jewellery, sculptures, wooden items, handmade apparel, mosaics, local produce and more.
Open Thursday-Sunday 11am -3pm.

A fine art gallery filled with the work of outstanding Kangaroo Island artists.
What could be more surprising than to find such a stunning array of high-quality art pieces lovingly curated within a traditional white wall gallery on Kangaroo Island? Perhaps coming to understand the special place the island itself holds in the creative process for every artist whose work is on exhibit here.
Some of this country's most famous contemporary artists, print makers and jewellery designers are among the works on display, including originals and fine art reproductions, including artists whose work are held in the National Gallery of Australia such as Janet Ayliffe and Jenny Clapson.
Other renowned Australian artists whose work you will find in our gallery include Landscape painters Caroline Taylor, Michelle Lane and Neil (Shep) Sheppard (dec) along with highly decorated art photographer Quentin Chester.

You can visit the real life studio and gallery of artist the late Neil Sheppard (alias Shep) [1956-2015]. The Gallery is open part-time, and you are invited to phone them for an appointment to book a viewing.
From an early age Shep always enjoyed drawing, and started his art career working in pen and ink. In 1998 he ventured into colour, painting in acrylics, and in 2005 began experimenting with oils. In latter years Shep painted full time, taught painting/drawing workshops and enjoyed periods of invited 'artist in residence'.
His legacy of artwork is available for viewing and includes Originals, museum quality Limited Edition and Memorial Edition Reproductions for purchase.

The Kangaroo Island Gallery is a community Gallery specifically for the promotion, encouragement and exposure of artists and crafts.
The Kangaroo Island Art Society was established in 1988 by a small group of local artists. The Kangaroo Island Gallery is the retail outlet for members of this art society.
Located centrally, the gallery has on display beautiful artworks by resident artists of the island. Visitors can view and purchase handmade items and art pieces such as jewellery, paintings, ceramics, photographs, glasswork, woodcraft and sculptures.
